Troopers responded to the crash at 8:12 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9 on the northbound lanes of 295 in Mount Laurel Township, Burlington County, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan.

Based on a preliminary investigation a Nissan Van was traveling in the right lane of I-295 north. A Dodge pickup truck was traveling north in the center lane of I-295 north.

A Peterbilt tractor-trailer was traveling south in the center lane of I-295.

In the area of milepost 42.6 the left side of the Nissan struck the right side of the Dodge, Marchan said.

As a result of the collision the Nissan ran off the road to the left, overturned, crossed the center median, and entered the southbound lanes before being struck by the tractor-trailer, he said.

During the collision sequence, the driver of the Nissan, Dennis Cox, 62, of Hamilton Square was ejected and sustained fatal injuries, Marchan said.

The crash remains under investigation.
